game programming? In this class you will bring your
creative ideas to life and design an awesome multi-level
computer game with StageCast
Creator. You will learn to use variables and
basic drop and drag scripting to make your gaming ideas
come to life. You can use your own drawings or import
sprites. Your game will have multiple levels, characters,
doors, traps, and cheats. Camp will end with a game
tournament and prizes for game creations will be awarded.
Students will receive a discount coupon for purchasing StageCast
as well as a copy of their game. This is a beginning game
programming class, no prior experience with game
programming is needed.
This is a Junior sized version of Camp Wired’s Game
Craze made especially for Junior Gamers! Students
will create their own game using StageCast Creator
by drawing their own characters, creating their own worlds
and programming them all to interact in a game
environment! Students will receive a discount coupon for
purchasing StageCast as well as a copy of their
game. This is a beginning game programming class, no prior

How'd they do that?! In this class, you will learn the secrets of digital photo manipulation using Photoshop and GIMP . You will create dramatic and creative computer graphics and digital artwork. You’ll float in a bottle, surf Hawaiian waves, climb the Great Wall of China, stand with the Sphnix, grow a giant head, switch heads with your brother, morph your friend’s face, shake hands with the President, and even travel across the world without leaving your seat! You will also learn the tricks of fixing old photos! This is a fantastic class for game creators want to manipulate and create your own characters, backgrounds, and graphics for your games.
CAMP WIRED’s MOST POPULAR CLASS!! Why play computer games all summer when you can create your own?! Learn to make your own Role Playing Game using RPG Maker2000 that allows you to create your own land, castles, battles, weapons, and storyline. You, the game designer, will be equipped with the tools to design your own worlds and how characters interact in the environment you create and manage. You will learn to import sprites, backgrounds, and other essential gaming objects to create and manage your very own adventure. Your game will look similar to Pokemon, Zelda I or Final Fantasy. This is an intermediate game design class and students will receive a copy of RPGmaker 2000 as well as a copy of their game created in class.
This is a Junior-sized version of our RPG 2000 class where students will learn the basics of RPG 2000. Students will make a smaller sized version of their own personalized Role Playing Games by building extensive maps, programming basic events, heroes, monsters, characters and battles. Students should be familiar with the keyboard, be able to type (spelling doesn’t count in your world!) on their own, and be good at following directions with multiple steps. You will receive a copy of your game as well as a copy of the program used.
Do you love cartoons and animations? Do you find yourself drawn to Saturday morning cartoons or silly online cartoons? Why not make your own? In this class, you will make your own creative comics come to life as well as make frogs talk, stars twinkle, morph shapes and create your own animated cartoon shorts! Drawing techniques, storyboard sequencing, and animation tricks will be covered as well. Students will use Flash MX to design their projects that will then be posted online. Cartooning with Flash is so much fun! This is an intermediate class.
Create your very own comic strip or be superhero in your own comic book! In this class, you can be whomever you want in a fabulous fantasy world that you create. You’ll also make crazy animations with add sound as well to make a your own comic book. You will learn to use Adobe Photo Elements and Comic Book Creator to bring your very own comical world to life!
Want to take your game-making skills to another level? Learn to use RPG XP's cool graphics and advanced interface to create and manage your own worlds, battles, animations, weapons to create a super-cool game. Students will have extensive time to devote to the creation of their own gaming universe. Students will be taught game making tips and tricks as well as have extensive lab time with multiple instructor support. Camp will culminate in a Camp Wired game tournament for awesome prizes! We recommend students take Game Craze and either RPG 2000 or Gamemaker prior to enrolling in this class.
Do you love cartoons? Bring your drawings or photos to life with MS GIF Animator and MIT’s Scratch programming language to make your own cool animations dance, wiggle and jump! Students should be comfortable drawing using a mouse and able to save multiple files in a folder. Students will receive a copy of their work as well as the programs used in class.
Have you ever wondered how to make your own webpage? In this class you will learn the HTML programming language, the code that runs behind webpages, and beginning FrontPage to create web pages that have dazzling effects. You’ll impress your friends and family with your new programming skills! Final creations will be posted online for the world to see!
Got game? The game programming industry is booming and here’s your chance to start your next career! Use your creativity to import sprites or design your own characters to create a fully executable game that you can email to your friends leaving them wondering, how’d he do that?! You will learn to program fighting, maze, platform, multi-level and 2D games. If you can dream it, you can program it! Students will receive the GameMaker and a copy of their game and the end of the week.
This time it's up to the Princess to save the world! This is a GIRLS ONLY version of RPG 2000 for future girl gamers! Become your own Hollywood director! In this class you will learn storyboarding, scripting, and composing skills as you write our own script to create your own short film with an original score! You will learn how the camera is used in film, how to act for the camera, edit your digital film with Moviemaker and use Jam Studio to make your own music. Your original creation will be posted online for your future acting and directing career!
Do you love taking pictures? In this class you will learn how to take beautiful and creative digital photos using different camera techniques. You will also learn how to take care of a digital camera, download and edit your photos and make a digital story of your work using Photostory. You will receive a copy of your work and your story will be posted online!
Watch out American Idol! In this class you will digitally compose your own rockin’ digital jam using Jam Studio's guitar, drum, bass, and piano loops. Then you will use your creativity to make a music video to match your jam! Your original song and music video will be posted online so you can have the world jam with you!
All Campers receive a camp t-shirt, a take-home version of their work, and a pizza lunch on Fridays.
